On their way to their new headquarters, the detachments crossed the Great Plain, between the Danube and the Tisza, then in Tolna and Baranya counties, where mass executions, and torture accompanied their presence . In their view, they took action against those responsible for the Soviet Republic. However the leaders of the Soviet Republic were all abroad by that time. The victims actually were mostlycivilians, whose main sin was usually to be supporters of the previous regime or simply to be of Jewish descent.
